Velvet Crazee Patch Tote Bag - Created in 2004

I did a lot of playing when I was creating this tote bag.  I machine washed velvet clothes and then cut it all up into pieces to use for the Crazee Patch sections of this bag!

I did not follow any rules of Crazee Patch.  I just used a variety of embroidery stitches to quilt the velvet and to embellish the velvet sections.  I used old and new crocheted dollies and little pretty things. I stitched them on to the velvet section with a zigzag stitch.

I stitched rick rack on the velvet piece for the bottom of the bag.  I lined the bag with old tablecloth fabric and used cloth napkins and dresser scarves for the pockets.

I machine washed the velvet and old fabric before using it. This tote bag is  machine washable and I have washed and dried it at least 5 times over the past 7 years. I have used this to carry my bathroom supplies to retreats and to our camper since 2005.  I just took the photos today - July 27, 2011 for this post.  It is still looking pretty good!
